This is a Psalm that David wrote after God delivered him from Saul and his other enemies. We will learn in tonight‘s message that there are truths of God we can know from reading the scriptures, and then there are deeper truths We can only know through experience. Psalm 20 was a prayer for the king before the battle. Psalm 21 is a celebration of the victory. God brought. Psalm 21 reminds us not just to pray when we need something from The Lord, but how important is it that we also take time to give thanks and praise for what he has done.

As David declares the Lord is his Shepherd and shares many of the blessings and benefits of being under the leadership of such a loving, gracious and powerful Shepherd. I hope that we will all be encouraged tonight to come under His leadership as we look at the great Shepherd of Psalm 23
