In this study, we will see that even though David had so much going against him, God had allowed one of Davids men to infiltrate Absaloms leadership. So we have one of Davids trusted men (Hushai) behind enemy lines. A sweet lesson as God often places us behind enemy lines to work His kingdom plan.

In this chapter we will learn about the sinfulness of slander, how that sin brings shame and sorrow upon our lives and how to look to God when everything is falling apart.

In this study we will see David betrayed by his son and many of the men of Israel broken, as he has to flee from his son. But blessed, he still has a relationship with God and God is his help in time of trouble. We will learn that in times of trouble, we shouldn’t look around and despair, nor do we look within and become depressed, but look up to the Lord where our help comes from.

In this study, we will see another crack in David’s character. Sometimes We can see our sin clearer when someone else is committing them. Let’s take heed to ourselves.

In ch.12, God told David what the consequences for his sin would be, in ch.13 we see the results of David’s sin in his family. We will see in this study how our sin can affect so many people that we love. Your sin does not only impact you but those near and dear to you as well.

Last week in Ch.11 we saw David sin greatly in a number of ways. Today in Ch.12 we will see the damaging long term results his sin would have. We will also learn about Gods mercy, forgiveness, and faithfulness that goes beyond us.

In this study, we will learn how dangerous it can be to judge the motives of others. We want to walk in love like Jesus and not accuse like Satan.

In this study, we will see David intentionally seek out the son of Jonathan that he might show “the kindness of God”. As we see what David did for Mephibosheth (Jonathan’s son) we learn about the kindness of God towards us.

In this study, we will see that when David had rest from the Lord, he went to work for the Lord. It is so important what we choose to do when we have seasons of rest. We will also learn that while we work in the natural, God does the greater work on our behalf.
