Mark 7:24-37 (He Does All Things Well)

In this message, Elijah will challenge King Ahab, the prophets of Baal, and the people of Israel to make a decision as to who they will worship. He makes a very good argument for why we should not worship idols, but only the true and living God.

In this chapter of Job, we will hear Elihu continue to express himself to Job. He questions rather or not God had spoken to Job whereas Job felt that God has not spoken to him. He suggests some of the ways God may have already spoken. We will discuss tonight: How does God speak to us?

In this message, Job’s friend Bildad gives his final argument against Job. It is the briefest of all and clearly Job’s friends have run out of words. Job responds with a discourse on the glory and strength of God. When there is nothing else to say, glorify God.

In this message, Job's third friend, Zophar takes his turn accusing Job of all that he suspects Job is guilty of. He is sure that Job is suffering at Gods hand because of his heinous secret sin. We will learn some important lessons about accusing others without proof.

In this chapter, God uses leviathan to question Job further. Ultimately confronting Job with the reality that he can’t control or restrain leviathan, he had a fear and reverence for leviathan, but does he have fear and reference for God?

In this message, we will see Job continue to interact with God. We will see that in God‘s presence Job is humbled and silenced. What he thought he would say when he got an audience with God is very different. We will learn what it means to be humbled in His presence.

In this chapter, Elihu continues his speech against Job. This young man has much to say, but we know ultimately, he is incorrect in his assessment of Job. He teaches a very strong lesson that we should be careful not to speak beyond what we know. Wisdom doesn’t waste his words.

Job gives his final speech. He declares his integrity and explains that he would understand going to the trial he has been through if he had done a number of sinful things to deserve it. We will learn with Job about grace, mercy, and trusting God, beyond what we see, or understand.

In this message, we have the third round of talks from Job’s friends. Eliphaz shares some correct theology, but comes to wrong conclusions about his friend Job. We will learn how to avoid making the same mistake.
